How to Change Your Fitbit Email
So you can change your Fitbit from the Fitbit app or the dashboard on Fitbit.com.
First of All, We Cover How to Change It on the App:
- Tap the today tab and hit your profile picture
- In your privacy section hit login
- Hit change email
- You are then presented with a new email and confirm new email boxes. Enter the new email address you want to use in these two
- Under confirm password, enter your Fitbit account password
- Hit the change option, and follow the instructions
- You should then receive an email from Fitbit, in it, click on verify email
- Then you’re done!
The Process if You Want to Change It From the Fitbit.com Dashboard is a Bit Different, However:
- In your Fitbit dashboard hit the gear icon and tap settings
- There should be a section displaying your current email address, and next to it, you can see be the option to change email address, click on this option.
- Once again, in the new email and confirm new email boxes, enter your new email and hit enter
- In the password box, enter your Fitbit password
- You should then receive an email from Fitbit. In it, click confirm email, then you’re done!
So that’s all there is to changing your Fitbit email, but what if you want to change some other aspect of your account? Well, here’s a run-through of a few options you may wish to change and how to change them.
How to Change Your Fitbit Display Name
Your display name is the name that people see when they interact with your Fitbit profile. It is visible when you send a message, or when your friends interact with your account in some way.
So naturally, you want to make sure that it’s a decent name.
Keep in mind that you can only change your username, or the real name associated with your account, every 60 days. You can change your username and real name from the Fitbit app, but only your real name from the Fitbit dashboard.
Changing Your Username in the App:
- Tap the today tab and hit your profile picture
- Hit the tile with your name
- Hit personal, then hit the gear icon and tap display name
- Under the edit names heading hit the name or username you want to change and enter your new name
- Hit save, and you’re done
Changing Your Name on the Fitbit Dashboard:
- Under your dashboard hit the gear icon, then hit settings
- Under the name section, change your name
- Tap submit
But what if you want to change your personal data, your birthday, height, weight, and sex, for example?
Well, here’s the solution to that too.
How to Change My Fitbit Birthday, Weight, Height, or Sex
On the Fitbit App:
- Hit the today tab and hit on your profile picture
- Hit on the tile with your name
- Tap on the personal tab
- Here you can see your various bits of personal information, tap on the bit of information you want to change, and make your changes
- Hit save
On the Fitbit Dashboard:
- On your Fitbit dashboard, click on the gear icon and click on settings
- Find the bits of information you want to change, and make your changes,
- Click on submit
Easy as that.
How to Edit Your Fitbit Bio
On the App:
- Hit the today tab and hit your profile picture
- Tap the tile with your name
- Hit personal then hit the gear icon and hit about me
- On your profile, write the bio you want to display on your profile
- Hit save
On your Fitbit Dashboard:
- On the dashboard home page, tap the gear icon and hit settings
- You can see the about me section, under it you can write your bio
- Click on submit and you’re done

How to Change My Fitbit Profile Picture
On the Fitbit App:
- Hit the today tab, then hit your profile picture
- Hit on the tab with your name
- Hit the gear icon, then hit profile photo. From here, tap the camera icon next to your current profile picture.
- Here, you can take a new picture directly for your Fitbit account, or you can choose an existing photo from your gallery. If you are on a Fitbit child account, you can select an avatar.
- Click on save your photo
On the Fitbit Dashboard:
- On your dashboard homepage, click on your profile picture
- You can see two options, change profile picture and upload pictures, you can click on either one of these depending on which one you need
- Choose your new profile picture and save
If you want to change your cover photo, it’s a bit of a different process, and you can only do it in the Fitbit app.
How to Change My Fitbit Cover Photo
- In the app, hit the today tab and hit your profile photo
- Hit the tile with your name
- Hit on the gear icon, then tap the cover photo option. Next to your current cover, tap the camera icon.
- Take a new photo, or choose one from your gallery
- Hit save
